What is this
Telangiectasia (“spider veins”, spider veins): persistently dilated small vessels of the skin with a diameter of up to 1 mm, visible as red or bluish lines. They are most often localized on the wings of the nose, cheeks, chin, and also on the skin of the legs. Laser correction also includes reticular veins, angiomas, and small port-wine stains.
How the procedure works
Uses neodymium laser (Nd:YAG, wavelength 1064 nm) on the Stellar M22 platform. The radiation is absorbed by hemoglobin in the lumen of the vessel, the vessel coagulates and is replaced by connective tissue within a few weeks. The surrounding skin is protected by cooling.
Before the procedure, the doctor evaluates the skin type, the depth and diameter of the vessels and selects the treatment parameters. If the vascular pattern on the legs is associated with venous disease, the doctor will first recommend consulting a vascular specialist.
Result and course
Small vessels may disappear after the first treatment; larger and multiple vessels usually require a course of 2-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The doctor determines the number of procedures during an in-person examination.
After the procedure
In the affected area, redness, swelling, and sometimes small crusts are possible, which disappear within a few days. For 2 weeks, exclude baths, saunas, and intense physical activity; during the entire course, the use of products with SPF is mandatory.
Contraindications: pregnancy, acute inflammatory skin diseases in the affected area, fresh tanning, cancer, taking photosensitizing drugs.
