What is hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis: increased sweating that exceeds the physiological need for thermoregulation (cooling the body).
Hyperhidrosis is most often localized in the armpits, palms and soles. Typical manifestations: clothes get wet, palms remain wet, antiperspirants do not have sufficient effect.
How is hyperhidrosis treated?
Botulinum toxin, the same drug used to correct expression lines, is injected into the area of increased sweating through a series of injections. It temporarily blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to the sweat glands, and sweating in the injection area is reduced.
The effect is temporary, after it ends the procedure can be repeated. The doctor determines the zones and dosage individually during an in-person consultation.
There are contraindications. Specialist consultation is required.
